Why we build on top of Mews, not around it
Mews already does the hard part of running a hospitality property. Availability, rates, payments, reservations, guest records, all of it lives in one operational core that hundreds of properties depend on every day. Rebuilding that from scratch would be a strange use of anyone's time, ours included.
So we don't. Make & Bridge builds products that sit on top of Mews rather than beside it or instead of it.
The Custom Booking Engine
The Custom Booking Engine exists for operators whose booking flow does not fit the standard Mews structure. Long-stay properties with tiered monthly pricing. Retreat centers selling fixed-date programs instead of nightly stays. Student housing operators who need contracts, guarantor details, and compliance data collected before a reservation is even confirmed. The default Mews booking engine was built for a different kind of stay, and for these operators, that gap shows up as manual work: follow-up emails, phone calls, staff filling in what the booking flow couldn't collect.
The Mews-Hubspot Connector
The Mews-HubSpot Connector exists for a different gap. Reservation data lives in Mews, but marketing and sales teams work out of HubSpot. Without a connection between the two, guest history sits unused, past guests can't be segmented for lifecycle marketing, and sales teams re-enter deal data by hand between systems.
In both cases, the fix isn't a parallel system. It's a layer that reads from and writes to Mews directly, so Mews stays the single source of truth for reservations and availability. No second database to maintain, no manual syncing, no risk of the two systems disagreeing about what's actually booked.
This matters more as an operator scales. A single property can absorb some manual workarounds. A portfolio of ten or fifty properties can't, not without hiring people whose whole job is reconciling systems that should already agree with each other.
